Grand Ledge football defeats Okemos in CAAC Blue league opener

Grand Ledge improved to 3-0 this season with a 45-7 victory over Okemos in the CAAC Blue league opener on Friday, September 11. The Comets controlled the game by scoring on their first six offensive possessions and adding a touchdown on a blocked punt. The Grand Ledge defense successfully stalled Okemos in the red zone twice during the first half, keeping the opponents scoreless until the fourth quarter. The loss drops Okemos to 2-1 on the season. Following the result, Grand Ledge is positioned as an early favorite in the league standings, while Okemos continues to develop under its current squad. Lawton Scarlett scored the lone touchdown for Okemos in the final period.
