Grizzlies trade for Isaiah Stewart from Pistons on draft day
Summary

The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired center Isaiah Stewart from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for three future second-round picks. Stewart, who is 25 years old, averaged 8.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game over six seasons with Detroit. The Grizzlies will absorb the remaining two years and $30 million on Stewart's contract through a trade exception. This addition is intended to bolster Memphis' depth behind starting center Zach Edey as the team continues to build its roster after multiple trades during the draft. The acquisition of Stewart adds further depth to the Grizzlies' frontcourt strategy.
