Illinois debuts the largest video board in college football history

Illinois has unveiled a new video board at Gies Memorial Stadium, measuring 70 feet by 250 feet and totaling over 17,000 square feet. This installation, by Daktronics, surpasses the previous largest board at Auburn, which measures around 11,000 square feet. The board features over 16 million pixels, providing a clearer display for fans, and includes a panoramic/curved screen. Tailgaters will also benefit from two new rear displays facing the State Farm Center. An early preview of the display occurred last weekend with a screening of Air Bud. The new board will be in use when Illinois opens the season against UAB on September 3.
