Izzy Daniel wins Delaware Online preseason cross country runner poll

Tower Hill runner Izzy Daniel received the most votes in the Delaware Online Preseason Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year poll. The recognition follows her performance last season where she secured the Division II state meet title with a time of 18:27.90. In addition to her state championship, Daniel claimed the girls individual title at the Joe O'Neill Invitational. The Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists presented the preseason poll as part of the local high school sports coverage. The Delaware News Journal is scheduled to begin its weekly Athlete of the Week polls starting Monday, Sept. 14. Nominations for weekly honors will be accepted via email and will include considerations for both high school cross country and football performers.
