Javon Bardwell commits to Providence after decommitting from Kansas

Four-star small forward Javon Bardwell has committed to Providence. The 6-foot-6 Harlem native reopened his recruitment after decommitting from Kansas earlier this month. Alongside his commitment, Bardwell reclassified from the 2027 class to the 2026 class, where he currently holds a ranking of No. 36 overall. During his summer circuit play with Compton Magic, he averaged 20.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He joins a Providence recruiting class that includes three-star small forward Clyde Walters. Under new head coach Bryan Hodgson, the Friars have also added several players through the transfer portal, including Dink Pate, Malik Mack, and Arrinten Page.
