Joe Greene accepts Portsmouth basketball head coach position

Portsmouth alum Joe Greene has been named the new head coach of the Portsmouth boys basketball program. This appointment marks his first varsity-level head coaching role. Outside of the basketball court, Portsmouth Raceway Park hosted a weekend of racing featuring the Valvoline Iron-Man Series. Kody Evans claimed the $7,500 prize in the late model feature event after winning from the pole position. Rayburn, Davey Akers, and Brett Blevins also secured feature wins across the modified, sport mod, and crown vic divisions respectively. The track returns to competition on September 4 and September 5 with a series of races, including a $20,000-to-win super late model feature scheduled for Saturday.
