Lafayette Jeff defeats McCutcheon behind fourth-quarter scoring burst

Lafayette Jeff earned its first football win of the season by defeating McCutcheon 28-7 on Friday, Sept. 4, at Ellison Stadium. The two teams were locked in a low-scoring defensive contest through three quarters, with the Bronchos holding a narrow 11-7 lead entering the final period. Lafayette Jeff surged in the fourth quarter behind a 52-yard touchdown reception by Na’Darius Young and a late rushing touchdown from Daelyn Neely. Defensive back Keshaun Burns secured the victory with a late interception. While the defense limited McCutcheon throughout the game, coach Pat Shanley specifically credited the team’s special teams unit for field position and efficient play.
