Orange Lutheran defeats Chandler Basha in high school football matchup

Orange Lutheran secured a 23-17 football victory over Chandler (Ariz.) Basha on Friday night at Orange Coast College. The Lancers leaned on a defensive effort that included a 75-yard pick-six by King Rich Johnson and multiple sacks against Basha quarterback Jake Rogers. Sophomore running back Ryan Christianson led the Orange Lutheran offense with 151 rushing yards and one touchdown. Despite an early 62-yard scoring pass from Rogers to Jaden Baldwin, Basha’s offense struggled to find consistency for the remainder of the contest. The win brings the Lancers to a 2-1 record amidst a schedule ranked as the toughest in the nation. Orange Lutheran continues its nonleague slate next week against Gardena Serra.
