Mason football improved to 2-0 with a 30-17 victory against reigning Division 3 state champion DeWitt on Thursday, Sept. 3. Mason established an early lead by scoring on five of its first six possessions to enter halftime ahead 27-0. Troy Peters led the offense with 18 carries for 193 yards and a rushing touchdown, while also throwing for an additional score. DeWitt narrowed the deficit in the second half following a touchdown pass from Griffin Braman to Lucius Cappelletti and a successful two-point conversion to Channing Ridley.
