Mizzou men's golf ties for eighth at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate

The Missouri men’s golf team tied for eighth place at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee, finishing with a cumulative score of five-under par. After an opening round of four-over, the team improved with scores of five-under and four-under in the subsequent rounds. Junior Trent Mierl led the Tigers, tying for eighth place individually with a three-round total of four-under par. Senior Veikka Viskari and junior Paxton Maxwell finished tied for 25th at one-under par. Head coach Glen Millican noted the team adjusted to the local Bermuda grass during practice rounds at Fox Den Country Club. Missouri finished fifth among the seven SEC programs competing in the event and will return to action on September 13 at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational in Ontario.
