Montverde Academy golfer Grace Xu returns after missing sophomore season due to injury

Grace Xu returned to the golf course for Montverde Academy on September 3, marking her first competition since a back injury sidelined her for the entire sophomore season. A freshman standout, Xu previously secured the individual title at the Florida High School Athletic Association state championship and set tournament records with a 62 in the first round and a 131 total. Despite being medically cleared during the postseason last year, she remained ineligible to compete because she had not played during the regular season. Having reclassified to the 2027 graduating class, she is now entering her senior year with a primary focus on leading her team to a state championship. Xu has spent the recent months participating in individual tournaments to regain her rhythm ahead of the team schedule.
