Nashville hosts Music City Kickoff weekend featuring college football and volleyball

Nashville prepares for a series of sporting and entertainment events over the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Activities begin Saturday night with a concert at the Ascend Amphitheater featuring Lee Brice, Gabby Barret and Payton Smith. The Nashville Sports Council hosts the Broadway Block Party on Sunday at Bridgestone Arena, which includes a women’s volleyball tournament featuring matchups between Louisville and Texas, as well as Tennessee and Indiana. The weekend concludes Sunday evening with a neutral-site college football season opener between Ole Miss and Louisville at Nissan Stadium. This marks the second meeting between the two football programs. City officials hope the multi-venue event schedule will generate tourism and establish the Music City Kickoff as an annual tradition. Tickets remain available for the football game.
