NCAA moves 2027 Women's Frozen Four to Sunday and Tuesday

The NCAA has shifted the schedule for the 2027 Women's Frozen Four tournament. Originally set for a Friday and Sunday format, the semifinals will now take place on Sunday, March 21, followed by the National Championship on Tuesday, March 23. This marks the first time a collegiate national championship game will be played on a Tuesday night. The change was implemented to ensure all three tournament games receive broadcast coverage on ESPN’s linear channels. The organization has not yet released details regarding the scheduling format for the 2028 tournament, but the 2027 event will serve as the inaugural instance of this Sunday-Tuesday structure for the Frozen Four.
