Nonnewaug football defeats Oxford in team's inaugural Naugatuck Valley League game

The Nonnewaug co-op football team secured a 12-6 victory over Oxford on Friday night in Woodbury. This contest marked the program's debut in the Naugatuck Valley League following a transition from its previous status. Oxford initially took the lead in the second quarter when Harrison Dorosh returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown. Nonnewaug responded with a 24-yard scoring pass from TJ Rubsamen to PJ Galullo, tying the game at 6-6 before halftime. Chance Salisbury later provided the deciding points with a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Galullo sealed the win by recording two interceptions during the fourth quarter, preventing Oxford from regaining the lead.
