Oakwood junior Alex Lee earns athlete of the week honors

FootballOakwood junior quarterback Alex Lee earned the Dayton Daily News Athlete of the Week honor for his performance during the period of Aug. 30 to Sept. 6. In a game against Milton-Union on Sept. 4, Lee passed for 296 yards on 16 completions and added 95 rushing yards, contributing to three touchdowns in a victory for the Lumberjacks. Now in his first season as the team’s starting signal-caller, he leads the Southwestern Buckeye League in passing yards through the first three weeks of play. Oakwood has scored at least 40 points in each of its first three games this year. Lee previously played as a receiver for two seasons before transitioning to the quarterback position this year. He credited his teammates and offensive line for their roles in the team's early-season offensive success.
