Oregon hosts recruit Gaige Weddle for November game against Michigan

The Oregon football program has scheduled a visit with 2028 recruit Gaige Weddle for the team's matchup against Michigan on Nov. 14. Weddle is a four-star safety from Rancho Bernardo High School and is currently ranked by Rivals as the top safety in his class. While Ohio State and Georgia are reportedly among the leaders for his recruitment, the visit to Eugene offers Oregon an opportunity to gain traction. The California athlete also serves as a quarterback at the high school level, recording 2,224 passing yards and 19 touchdowns last season while contributing defensively with two interceptions. Weddle has seven campus visits planned for this fall, including stops at Utah, Cal, BYU, Miami, UCLA, and Ohio State. His father, Eric Weddle, is a former NFL All-Pro safety who earned two-time Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors during his collegiate career at Utah.
