Philadelphia Eagles name Andy Dalton as backup quarterback for season opener

Tanner McKee will serve as the designated emergency third quarterback for the game. Several other players were ruled inactive for the contest, including edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, who is recovering from a pectoral strain. Wide receiver Elijah Moore and offensive lineman Micah Morris were also listed as healthy scratches. Britain Covey has been temporarily elevated from the practice squad and is expected to handle punt return duties.
