Quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza and Alberto Mendoza pursue separate football careers

Quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza and Alberto Mendoza are brothers who played together at Indiana University during the 2025 season. Fernando Mendoza, the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner, concluded his college career following a national championship win and signed a four-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Alberto Mendoza transferred to Georgia Tech in January 2026 to seek a starting role after playing as a backup for the Hoosiers. The brothers, who both attended Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, grew up in a family with a strong athletic background involving rowing and tennis. Their younger brother, Max, is currently pursuing a career in broadcasting. Alberto now prepares for his new tenure with the Yellow Jackets, while Fernando begins his professional tenure with the Raiders.
