Raiders tight end Brock Bowers misses two games following knee procedure

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is sidelined for the first two games of the NFL season after undergoing a procedure on his meniscus in Dallas, Texas. The injury involves the same left knee that previously forced him to miss time last season with a PCL and bone bruise, eventually leading to a stint on injured reserve. Despite an initial expectation from head coach Klint Kubiak that the roster would be fully healthy for the season opener, the team confirmed the absence of their key offensive contributor. Cameron Newell, the partner of the third-year veteran, shared an update on social media showing Bowers wearing a knee sleeve. Michael Mayer, a fourth-year veteran and 2023 draft pick, will take over as the starting tight end while Bowers recovers. Bowers has recorded 176 receptions for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns over his first two professional seasons.
