Rookie DJ Herman makes Miami Dolphins roster after position switch to fullback

The Miami Dolphins added undrafted rookie DJ Herman to their 53-man roster following a successful transition from linebacker to fullback. After joining the team as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State, Herman was asked by general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan to move to the offensive side of the ball to fill a vacant role. Coach Jeff Hafley noted that Herman’s background as a linebacker provided the necessary lateral movement and physicality required to succeed at the position. Teammate Jaylen Wright praised the rookie for his professional approach and ability to create running lanes during practice. Herman is currently preparing for his NFL debut as the team shifts focus to the regular-season opener against the Raiders on September 13. He will spend the upcoming days reviewing film to adjust to his new role within the Dolphins' offense.
