TCU football player Dozie Ezukanma suffered a brain bleed and a concussion following an assault by teammate Jacob Fields in a team locker room. An arrest warrant affidavit states that Fields punched and kicked the receiver in the head after becoming upset about practice performance. Ezukanma was hospitalized for three days and reported being unconscious during the incident. Fields was dismissed from the TCU football team on August 18 and was booked into Tarrant County Jail on August 30 on a charge of aggravated assault. He was later released after posting a $50,000 bond. Fields, a defensive transfer from Louisiana Tech, had been expected to contribute to the secondary, while Ezukanma remains sidelined after missing the season opener against North Carolina.
