TCU revokes press credentials of Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Texas Christian University officials banned the Fort Worth Star-Telegram from covering all university athletics following the newspaper's reporting on an Aug. 13 locker room assault. The physical altercation involved former safety Jacob Fields and wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma, who suffered a brain bleed and concussion. Reports indicate Ezukanma spent three days in the hospital after waiting approximately two hours before transport to an emergency room. Fields was dismissed from the team and faces a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. While university officials claimed the newspaper’s coverage caused threats toward the victim, the outlet maintains its decision to continue reporting on the athletic program. The school has not specified criteria required to restore the credentials.
