Tennessee Titans postpone Ring of Honor ceremony for Chris Johnson

The Tennessee Titans postponed the Ring of Honor induction ceremony for former running back Chris Johnson. The event was scheduled to take place during halftime of the team's season opener against the New York Jets on September 13 at Nissan Stadium. The team cited unforeseen circumstances preventing Johnson and his family from traveling to Nashville for the game. While the official induction is delayed until a future date, the organization will still dedicate halftime of the upcoming matchup to celebrating Johnson’s career and legacy with the franchise. Johnson revealed earlier this summer that he is battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The team has not announced a rescheduled date for the induction.
