Texas Tech safety Brenden Jordan misses Abilene Christian game due to suspension

Texas Tech starting safety Brenden Jordan missed the team's 33-10 win over Abilene Christian after being a late scratch from the lineup. Head coach Joey McGuire confirmed after the game that the absence stems from a two-game suspension for a violation of team rules. The program announced the decision shortly before kickoff. Jordan, who started 15 consecutive games to close the previous season, remains in good standing with the team despite the disciplinary action. Peyton Morgan and Malik Esquerra started at the safety positions in his place. McGuire expects Jordan to return to the roster following the conclusion of his suspension.
