The Athletic identifies Florida assistant Greg Gasparato as rising coaching talent

The Athletic named Florida linebackers coach Greg Gasparato as one of 25 rising coaches to watch entering the 2026 college football season. The list identifies staff members who may advance into head coaching or coordinator positions in the near future. Gasparato previously served as defensive coordinator at Troy and Tulane under head coach Jon Sumrall. During his tenure at Troy, his defensive unit helped set single-season program and Sun Belt records with 47 sacks. Before joining the Florida staff, he garnered interest from multiple Power Four programs for coordinator roles. He now holds a position-coach role with the Gators, providing an opportunity to further build his reputation within the Southeastern Conference.
