University of Houston safety Jordan Allen enters his fifth college season aiming to secure his first career interception. Despite starting 13 games at free safety for the Cougars last season, the defensive back remains without a takeaway in his collegiate career. Allen recorded an 85.5 tackle grade last year, ranking fourth among Big 12 safeties, and missed only 7.4% of his tackle attempts. Throughout the current preseason, he has focused on film study and technique refinement under the guidance of safeties coach P.J. Hall. Allen and the Cougars are scheduled to face Oregon State this Saturday at TDECU Stadium. The safety identifies consistency as his primary objective for the upcoming season as he looks to increase his draft profile.
