The 30th annual Mayors Cup between Wilkes University and Kings College was suspended on September 3, 2026, due to severe weather. Storms moved through the Wilkes-Barre area following the completion of the first quarter, forcing officials to evacuate the stadium. At the time of the suspension, the Colonels held a 7-0 lead. That advantage came after quarterback Trey Dogmantis completed a 28-yard touchdown pass to Danny Pigga on an opening-drive fourth-down attempt. The Monarchs had managed a drive into the red zone, supported by a 26-yard run from Reynaldo Carter, but ultimately fumbled the ball to Wilkes. Following the evacuation, officials observed a 30-minute delay before deciding to postpone the remainder of the contest. A makeup date for the game has not yet been announced.
