High school football programs across Western Colorado completed several matchups during the second week of the season. Montrose improved its record by defeating Palisade 21-12 in a contest between two previously unbeaten teams. Elsewhere, Fruita Monument secured a 19-0 shutout victory against Central, while North Fork narrowly finished over Monte Vista with a 19-13 score. Delta recorded a 42-0 win over Glenwood Springs, and Olathe defeated Gunnison 19-14. Teams have already scheduled their next opponents for the coming week, with most games set for September 11. Additional contests for Rifle, Eaton, Rye, and Cedaredge are scheduled to take place on Saturday.
