Xavier football opens season with a 27-2 victory against East Haven

Xavier defeated East Haven 27-2 in a season-opening football game Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, in Middletown. After a shaky first quarter characterized by a safety on a high snap, the Falcons found their rhythm under quarterback Maxwell Murphy. Murphy finished the night with three touchdown passes, connecting with Eli Halvorsen, Evan McKee, and Milo Chandler.
