Asheville hosts first PGA Tour Biltmore Championship in 84 years

The PGA Tour returns to Asheville, North Carolina, for the first time in 84 years to host the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville. Scheduled for September 17-20, the event will take place at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The tournament serves as part of the PGA Tour's FedEx Fall Series, with 132 players competing for a $5 million purse and critical tour status points. Course preparations include increasing the rough to six inches to add difficulty for the field. The tournament is supported by a four-year, $2.4 million agreement between the city and the tour, featuring a large volunteer base of over 1,100 people from the local community. This event marks the seventh PGA Tour stop in Asheville.
