Canandaigua football shuts out Batavia 46-0 in home opener

Canandaigua improved to 2-0 on the 2026 season following a 46-0 victory over Batavia in the Gray Wolves' home opener on September 11. Canandaigua built a 39-0 halftime lead behind two rushing touchdowns each from Isaac Dolph and Austin Kierst. The team's defensive effort featured a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Joel Lloyd and an additional fumble recovery by Derek Smith that set up a touchdown pass from Kierst to Declan Cooney. Elijah Laskowski contributed a rushing touchdown in the second half to finalize the scoring. Following an earlier win against Honeoye Falls-Lima, Canandaigua continues its early-season momentum as it prepares to face Brockport next week. The Gray Wolves are currently positioned as early contenders for the Class A2 title after the reclassification of the previous champion.
