Chase Lyons earns Athlete of the Week after Pieper football victory

Pieper senior quarterback Chase Lyons received the Express-News Athlete of the Week honor following a 56-13 win over Buda Johnson. Lyons completed 28 of 38 pass attempts for 305 yards and five touchdowns in the victory, which marked the first win of the season for the Warriors. Receiver Cade Diamond assisted the effort with 11 catches for 127 yards and three scores. The weekly awards also recognized other regional athletes, including Johnson receiver Braelyn Allen, who secured Offensive Player of the Week honors after a 38-7 win over Austin Vandegrift. Brennan linebacker Johnas Brewster claimed Defensive Player of the Week after recording 18 tackles in a 63-0 win against Reagan. Antonian volleyball player Kenadie Piña was named Player of the Week for her performance in a victory against Harlan.
