Evan James returns a 77-yard punt for an Iowa touchdown

Iowa wide receiver Evan James returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown during the team's season opener against Northern Illinois on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. The score extended Iowa’s lead to 40-0 during the second half of a game dominated by the Hawkeyes since the first quarter. James, who transferred to the program from FCS school Furman during the offseason, served as the primary receiver for his former team last year with 796 yards and eight total touchdowns. The Hawkeyes entered this season looking for a replacement for All-American returner Kaden Wetjen, who departed the program for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
