Fairfield cross-country teams place at home during Ron Hunerdosse Invitational

Track & FieldFairfield High School hosted the Ron Hunerdosse Invitational at Waterworks Park on Thursday evening. The Trojan boys team secured second place in the large-school division with 92 points, while the girls team finished third with 100 points, trailing Fort Madison by a single point. Senior Brice Boatright helped lead the boys performance following a pre-meet message from coach Jerrod Belzer. The event held significance as the team honored the memory of former teammate Jack Polonsky, who passed away in 2025. Runners wore gold throughout the competition to show support for cancer awareness efforts in his honor. The Fairfield teams are scheduled to return to competition next Thursday at the Timm Lamb Invitational in Fort Madison.
