Florida State volleyball finishes 2-1 at FGCU Invitational

Florida State volleyball concluded its season-opening tournament at the FGCU Invitational in Fort Myers with a 2-1 record. Head coach Lindsay Allman began her tenure at the program following the departure of Chris Poole, who led the team for 18 years. The Seminoles opened play on August 28 with a five-set loss to No. 24 Brigham Young University. The team rebounded on August 29 with a 3-1 victory against Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by a 3-1 win over host Florida Gulf Coast University on Sunday. Junior Bailey Higgins and senior Kyleene Filimaua, a beach volleyball transfer, provided key offensive production throughout the weekend. Florida State is scheduled to play the University of Kansas on September 4 in Nashville.
