Georgia running back Dante Dowdell recovers from serious ATV accident injuries

University of Georgia running back Dante Dowdell is recovering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta after sustaining significant injuries in an ATV accident in Mississippi this July. The 21-year-old athlete confirmed via social media that he suffered a punctured lung, broken collarbones, broken ribs, and nerve damage to his right arm. Dowdell also required nine staples to his head following the incident. He has been undergoing rehabilitation at the facility for several months, with video documentation showing his progress in physical exercises like treadmill walking and swimming. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart stated at SEC Media Days that Dowdell's status for the current season remains uncertain. Dowdell, who previously played for Kentucky, Nebraska, and Oregon, is now sidelined indefinitely while he continues his recovery process.
