Houston Texans release list of 25 greatest players for 25th season

To celebrate their 25th season, the Houston Texans organized a panel to determine the 25 best players in franchise history. Voters evaluated more than 1,500 individual player matchups based on the quality and quantity of their career contributions to the club. The resulting list includes long-term starters and statistical record holders ranging from franchise cornerstones to recent acquisitions. Among those ranked are tight end Owen Daniels, who holds every franchise receiving record for the position, and kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn, the team's all-time leading scorer. The rankings also highlight defensive contributors such as Whitney Mercilus, who ranks second in franchise sacks, and Danielle Hunter, who made an immediate impact upon arriving in 2024. This initiative serves as a retrospective on the organization's history since its inception in 2002.
