Joey Porter Jr. remains limited on Steelers injury report ahead of season opener

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is the only player listed on the injury report for either the Steelers or Atlanta Falcons ahead of the Sunday season opener. Porter participated in practice on a limited basis Wednesday due to a back injury. The cornerback spent the majority of this summer on the physically unable to perform list following a back issue but returned to team activities after 53-man roster cutdowns. Mike McCarthy stated that Porter is currently in a ramp-up period as he prepares for the start of the regular season. Porter enters the final year of his rookie contract and has been seeking an extension from the organization this offseason. Both the Steelers and Falcons reported a clean injury status for the remainder of their respective rosters heading into the opening weekend.
