May River and Beach secure first football victories of the season

May River and Beach notched their first wins of the season during Thursday night football action. May River overcame a 10-0 first-quarter deficit to defeat Mountain View Prep 56-38 in Bluffton, South Carolina. The victory marks the first win for first-year head coach Steven Nimmer at the team’s home stadium and brings the Sharks to a 1-1 season record. Meanwhile, in Savannah, Beach High School recorded a 40-0 shutout victory against Groves. The Bulldogs established an early advantage by taking a 28-0 lead into the halftime break before closing out the win. Following the result, Beach is scheduled to return to the field on September 11 for a matchup against Long County. These games represent the initial season success for both programs following their previous outings.
