Northern State football defeats Winona State to reach 2-0 record

The Northern State Wolves defeated Winona State 31-16 on Thursday at Dacotah Bank Stadium in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The victory marks the first time Northern State has opened a season with a 2-0 record since 2003. Running back Hank Kraft led the offense with 241 rushing yards on 22 carries and three total touchdowns, including a 92-yard run and a 3-yard receiving score. Quarterbacks Joey Dube-Garrett and Ty Englehart each threw a touchdown pass to support the offensive effort. Defensive back Landon Kelley secured an interception for the Wolves, while Jake Adams recorded 17 total tackles. Northern State continues its season next Saturday with a road game against Southwest Minnesota State.
