Pleasant defeats River Valley in Mid Ohio Athletic Conference football game

The Pleasant football team defeated River Valley 48-13 on Friday, Sept. 11, in a Mid Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at the Tundra in Marion County. Ryan Conway opened the scoring for the Spartans with a 43-yard touchdown run and finished the game with three total touchdowns. Weston Shaffer added three rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter and threw for 154 yards, including a scoring pass to Keean Perriguey before halftime. River Valley trailed 21-13 late in the second quarter after an Owen Collins touchdown pass to Carter Myers but failed to score again. This win marks the first time the Spartans have beaten their oldest county rival since 2019. Pleasant moves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while River Valley falls to 0-4.
