Timberwolves held trade discussions with Celtics for Jaylen Brown

The Minnesota Timberwolves engaged in trade negotiations with the Boston Celtics for Jaylen Brown during the offseason. According to insider Jon Krawczynski, the Celtics requested Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid as part of the exchange. The Minnesota front office ultimately deemed the cost too high and did not finalize the deal. Instead, the team acquired LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets. Jaylen Brown was later traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on July 10. The Timberwolves reportedly preferred the roster fit of LaMelo Ball over the requirements needed to secure Brown from Boston.
