United States and Great Britain and Ireland prepare for 2026 Walker Cup

The 51st Walker Cup begins September 5 at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland. The biennial match-play competition features 10 amateur golfers from the United States and 10 from Great Britain and Ireland. The teams will play two days of foursomes and singles matches, with competition concluding September 6. United States enters the event leading the all-time series 40-9-1 after defeating Great Britain and Ireland 17-9 in last year's tournament at Cypress Point. The United States Golf Association and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews moved the event to even-numbered years to avoid conflicts with the World Amateur Team Championships. Golf Channel will provide television coverage of all sessions, with additional streaming options available via the R&A's YouTube channel for the final day of play.
