Jersey Shore defeats North Schuylkill 49-34 in high school football

Jersey Shore overcame a double-digit deficit to secure a 49-34 victory over North Schuylkill on Friday night. North Schuylkill held a 20-7 lead late in the second quarter, but momentum shifted after Jersey Shore capitalized on a late kickoff return to score before halftime. Jersey Shore outscored the Spartans 35-14 in the second half to pull away. Bulldogs quarterback Nolen Pauling led the effort by throwing for four touchdowns and adding two rushing scores, while receiver Carter Rhinehart recorded three touchdown catches. Despite the loss, North Schuylkill saw strong contributions from quarterback Brock Holmes, who totaled five rushing touchdowns, and running back Angel Ortiz, who tallied 144 yards on 18 carries. North Schuylkill coach Joe Tomtishen said the team will use the outcome as a learning opportunity while preparing for a schedule that includes upcoming games against Notre Dame-Green Pond, Williams Valley, and Mount Carmel.
