The New York Jets signed kicker Jason Sanders to their practice squad on Sunday. This move occurred shortly after the team released Sanders following the waiver claim of Blake Grupe on Monday. Sanders struggled during the final preseason game, missing two kicks. Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that the organization is currently evaluating its kicking options ahead of the upcoming Week 1 game. In addition to the kicker, the Jets signed 15 other players to the practice squad, including linebacker Troy Reeder and a group of wide receivers, cornerbacks, and offensive linemen. Most of the players added to the squad spent the offseason with the team, with the exception of Reeder, who was with the Detroit Lions this summer.
