Lucas earns first Northern 10 football victory in win against Willard

The Lucas Cubs secured their first victory as a member of the Northern 10 conference by defeating the Willard Flashes 28-22 on Friday. Lucas relied on a ground-heavy offensive attack, with Brady Anschutz rushing for 143 yards and Brady Guegold adding 134 yards. Both players recorded a touchdown, while teammates Carter Cox and Cooper Day also reached the end zone on the ground. Despite a strong performance from Willard quarterback Jacob Rothaar, who accounted for three total touchdowns and 267 total yards, the Flashes were unable to complete a potential game-winning drive in the final minute. Lucas moves to a 2-2 record and will host Tiffin Calvert next week. Willard falls to 2-2 and is scheduled to travel to Seneca East for its next matchup.
