Six Greater San Antonio runners headline early 2026 cross country season

As the 2026 high school cross country season begins in Greater San Antonio, six runners have emerged as key athletes to watch. South Texas Heat teammates Elin Latta and Iris Latta lead the early pack, with Elin Latta recently clocking a nation-leading time at the Southlake Carroll Invitational. Churchill sophomore Mia Kellogg enters the season following a district championship win, while New Braunfels senior Savanah Moya continues a run of state-level experience after multiple top-ten finishes in 5A. Additional regional competitors include TAPPS Class 4A state champion Savannah Parker and Smithson Valley junior Aubrey Pozzi. With UIL district meets scheduled to begin in six weeks, these athletes are currently refining their form in early-season invitational events. Each runner is building upon success from previous track and field or cross country campaigns as the competitive calendar advances toward the postseason.
