Uzair Chowdhury and Sol Scott win medals at Junior European Championships

Gymnasts Uzair Chowdhury and Sol Scott secured medals while representing Team GB at the Junior European Championships in Croatia last month. The 16-year-old Chowdhury successfully defended his titles on the parallel bars and in the team event. Training at Huntingdon Gymnastics Club, Chowdhury is aiming to qualify for future Olympic squads alongside his teammate. Sol Scott also earned a gold medal in the team competition and added a bronze in the individual vault final. Both athletes acknowledge the sacrifices required to compete at the high level, including significant travel and financial support from their families. Their coach, Ben Howells, noted that the club requires further sponsorship and support to improve its current training facilities to a world-class standard.
