The Sturgis Trojans football team earned a 27-8 road victory over Battle Creek Pennfield on Thursday night. The win marks the first for the program since October 2023 and snaps a 20-game losing streak. The Sturgis defense held the opponent scoreless for more than three quarters, highlighted by a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown by Melachi Warner before halftime. Cristian Alvez added a 7-yard rushing score before the break, while Beckett Lamb and Hudson Lamb connected on a 13-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Beckett Lamb also scored on a 40-yard run to extend the lead. Sturgis will look to maintain momentum when the team travels to play Edwardsburg next week.
