VolleyballBishop Walsh responded to an opening set loss by taking the next three frames to finish a four-set victory over Broadfording on Thursday night. The Spartans won the first set 25-22 before the Lions recovered with scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-19. Anzleigh Simmons led the effort with eight kills, while Tygerlily Fielding tallied 14 digs and seven aces. In other local action, Mountain Ridge swept Frankfort in straight sets, winning 25-17, 25-9, and 25-11. Kealana Pua’auli powered the Miners with 22 kills, and teammate CJ Gray added 20 service points. Meanwhile, Northern Garrett bested Allegany in three sets with scores of 28-26, 25-13, and 25-19. Bishop Walsh prepares for a Monday road match against Turkeyfoot Valley, while Mountain Ridge hosts Salisbury-Elk Lick.
